Mother's Day

Do you want to know the best part of Mother's Day?

My kids.

After all, I wouldn't be honoured on Mother's Day without them.

So thanks for bringing me joy and snuggles and laughter, boys. Thanks for loving me and drawing me silly pictures and telling me humourless jokes and silly made-up dreams.

And thank you God for giving them to me.

Spring Frolic

There was a fundraiser at Ezra's future school today and we all walked down for the fun! There was face painting, games, a bouncy castle, an auction and more. It was a lot of fun and very busy. Here are some pics:
This was a major highlight.
Both boys had a blast in here.
Silas got his face painted; Ezra wanted a temporary tattoo.
Enjoying some cotton candy. Well Ezra enjoyed it, Silas not so much.
Of course, Philip was there too!

I have an etsy shop!

Rob is amazing. We all know this. Here's one more reason: he has been coming home early every Friday afternoon for several weeks now, to give me time to paint. It has been fabulous.

And now, I have enough pieces of art to open an etsy shop. So I have. It's open.

Go here. Tell your friends. Buy something. Encourage me. Do it.

Dad and the Boys

Growing baby!

Philip was weighed and measured today and he is doing great! Still tiny (smaller than I thought actually) but he is growing on trend! He needs to grow by 12oz by next check up in order to have doubled his birth weight. I think we can manage that ;).

Height 58.25cm/23"
Weight 4.84kg/10lb, 10oz
Head 40cm/15.75"

Just for reference:
Ezra was 12lb, 6oz and measured 24 1/4" and Silas was 13lb, 3oz, measured 24.5" and had a head circumference of 16".

Sick

Ezra has had the stomach flu since the early hours of Saturday morning. Silas was sick on Saturday but got better quickly.
Yesterday Ezra got a full body rash in a very short time and it made me worried. He hadn't eaten a lot, wasn't peeing very much so we decided to take him to the emergency room.
He was such a trooper. We waited in the general waiting room for three hours before seeing the doctor. The pediatrician we saw was excellent. Ezra answered all the doctor's questions himself and we learned he has a common viral rash called erythema multiforme minor. His prescription was Cheerios and movies for the next seven days. He also recommended milk in small doses so he doesn't go into starvation mode.
Apparently Silas is most likely to get sick, as it doesn't generally affect adults and I am still breastfeeding Philip so he will be getting antibodies from me. Hopefully Ezra gets better soon and no one else gets it!

The rash that made me take him in.
Waiting patiently (Treehouse helped!)

Smiley Guy

I took these pictures about two weeks ago and forgot to put them on the blog! Sorry all! It gets busy around here real quick! Philip loves showing his smiles to anyone an everyone. His favourite thing right now is faces.

Silas's Questions

Silas has been on a question kick. Most of the following questions he asked me in rapid fire one morning. A few of the other questions listed below are from other times throughout the same day. He is a very funny little boy.

How our feet stand up?

Why are you so tall daddy?

Why mommy so short?

What our necks do when we sleeping?

What inside our shadow?

What my shadow made from?

Why I have a shadow?

What's inside water?

What's inside my body?

What's my bones made of?

Where my pee live before it comes out?

How high are the clouds?

What's on top of the clouds?

Want to see me ________? (Run, dance, be silly, silly face, ice skating, etc)

What's inside eggs?

What's inside rocks?

What's under the ground?

Why us have teeth?

Why houses have windows?

Where's are you?

Auntie Kaylyn and Cousin Caleb

My sister and her boy came to see us recently and it was so good to have them. We really missed her husband Jonnie but he was away for work. Our boys love babies and it turns out Caleb loves them too! He is such a happy guy- he is a lot of fun to be around. As usual, the visit was much too short but we made the most of it! And we are counting down until our next visitors...only six weeks to go!

Big smiles!
